Of course, families want the BEST Disney Cruise experience! But here’s the thing, the answer is going to vary for each and every single family out there. Your family is unique, and so should be your Disney Cruise recommendation.

Meet the Disney Cruise Line Fleet
Same Disney Magic, Different Disney Vibe: What Actually Varies Ship to Ship
Cabins are similar across the fleet. The real shifts happen with the vibe, shows, dining and amenities. We track those so you don’t have to.
Size & feel: Classic and cozy (Magic, Wonder) Balanced (Dream, Fantasy) Newest (Wish, Treasure, Destiny)
Signature fun: AquaDuck vs. AquaMouse, Marvel & Arendelle dinner shows vs. Animator’s Palate/Tiana’s/Rapunzel’s.
Adult escape spots: Newer ships have bigger concierge lounges, sundecks and updated spa layouts.
Kids’ club themes & splash zones: Same incredible quality, different theming.
Disney Magic
Best for families who want a smaller, easier-to-navigate ship with classic Disney charm. Often sails Europe and Caribbean/Bahamas runs. Think Rapunzel’s Royal Table, Tangled: The Musical, and lower crowd “feel.”

This DCL ship is an Alaska MVP and a favorite for families who want scenery + cozy ship vibes. Tiana’s Place, Frozen: A Musical Spectacular, and great kid club theming make it a hit with littles (and foodies).

Wish Class Ship #4
Expected to start sailing in 2027
Disney Adventure
Sailing from Singapore starting 2025. Ideal for Asia-based itineraries or bucket-list cruisers wanting something truly different without losing Disney’s service and storytelling.
Future Disney Ships
A new, smaller class of ship was announced to have access to even more destinations, with delivery expected in 2029, 2030, and 2031 bringing the Disney Cruise Line fleet to 13 vessels strong.
Smaller vessels = access to new ports. Keep these on radar if you love intimate ship vibes and off-the-beaten-path itineraries.
