What is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?

Since 1983, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has been Walt Disney World’s premier Holiday event! What started out as a one-day-only event has become a beloved holiday tradition for many families.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event held at Walt Disney World during November and December in Magic Kingdom that runs officially from 7:00 pm – midnight on select MVMCP party nights.

This fan-favorite Disney Christmastime Holiday party is a family-friendly event and very appropriate for children of all ages with special stage shows, entertainment, unique character meet and greet opportunities, seasonal overlays on selected attractions, dance parties, Christmas parade, special fireworks and more!

What time does Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party start?

The party officially starts at 7:00 pm and takes over all of Magic Kingdom theme park. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party officially ends at midnight, but you can enjoy the last show which begins at 12 am, meander a bit and shop for all the holiday things.

MVMCP guests do not need separate theme park admission or Park Pass reservations for the party, and you will be able to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 pm with your Christmas party ticket. You will receive your wristband at the Magic Kingdom entrance.

On Christmas party days, the Magic Kingdom theme park closes to the public at 6:00 pm. If you are planning to be in Magic Kingdom before 4pm, you will need “normal” theme park admission. Thankfully, you will not have to exit the park to receive your party wristbands at designated pickup locations inside the park which will allow you to stay inside the park for the party if you have also purchased a party ticket.

What is there to eat at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?

With the Christmas Party officially starting at 7pm, and non-party guests being escorted out at 6pm thoughtful consideration should be given to where you will eat dinner on your Christmas party night. If you are planning to do Christmas party character meet and greets, some of these queues will ope before the party starts around 6pm.

There are several options some Table Service Christmas Party dining options in Magic Kingdom are available, but in general we do not recommend utilizing party time for a sit-down meal.

Eating early around 4pm inside Magic Kingdom or at a nearby resort is ideal if you would like a sit-down meal. If you find you cannot eat dinner that early, there will be a few quick service options open during the party, such as Casey’s or Pecos Bills Cafe. We suggest you plan for a good, solid meal prior to the party so you can enjoy alllllll the party exclusive treats and complimentary cookies and cocoa!

Should you attend the Christmas party at Magic Kingdom?

We have MAT client families who choose to attend the Christmas party, and some who choose to skip; but both enjoy their November and December Walt Disney World trips, and it is going to depend on each family.

How much does Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party cost?

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is NOT included with regular theme park admission, so you will need a separate ticket for the party.

Pricing will vary based on the dates you are attending, and for who is going with you. Prime dates and weekends will price a little higher. An exception to this is the first event of the season, when many avid Disney Christmas Party fans want to be the first ones to experience it!

Guests over 10 years old are considered “adults” and children ages 3-9 typically will cost approximately $10 less per ticket. Children 2 and under do not require a ticket for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
